Bob Mankoff is the founder of CartoonStock, former Cartoon Cartoon Editor of The New Yorker. His cartoons began appearing in The New Yorker in 1974. Mankoff started the original Cartoon Bank in 1991 devoted to licensing for use in newsletters, textbooks, magazines and other media. In 1997, Mankoff was named Cartoon Editor of The New Yorker at which time The New Yorker purchased The Cartoon Bank, giving the site access to all cartoons published in the magazine over the past eight decades.
